Firmware update for Lumix cameras, Launch of LUMIX LAB and NDI Support for 4K PTZ Cameras and AG-CX350 Camcorder

New firmware is available for the Lumix S9, S5, S5II, S5IIX and G9II models. This firmware brings a series of improvements and new features that will elevate your user experience. Furthermore, LUMIX Lab was launched, an application that promises to be a valuable tool for our users.

What's new?

Lumix S9

Removed video recording time limit: You can now record without a time limit, although recording will automatically stop if the internal temperature becomes high. 

Multiple image marker display function: display up to three frame markers simultaneously. 

Improved Object Detection: New object detection options have been added, including [AIRPLANE] and [TRAIN], as well as a [Target Parts] option for [CAR] and [MOTORCYCLE]. 

Compatibility with the LUMIX smartphone app: Remote shooting, remote shutter control, and transfer of selected images from the camera are now possible. 

Other improvements: adjustments to the functionality of the control button in the menu and increased operational stability.

Lumix S5II e S5IIX

New [LEICA Monochrome] style in [Photo Style] options.

Compatibility with the LUMIX smartphone app.

Support for the Panasonic DMW-XLR2 XLR microphone adapter, although 32-bit floating audio recording is not available.

Added the 5GHz option in [Wi-Fi Frequency Bands], allowing simultaneous connection with [2.4GHz]. Keep in mind that use of the 5GHz band may be restricted in some regions.

Other improvements: the [REAL TIME LUT] function can now be assigned to an Fn button, a pop-up message has been added when using a Panasonic retractable lens, and operational stability has been improved.

Lumix G9II

Compatibility with the LUMIX smartphone app.

Support for the Panasonic DMW-XLR2 XLR microphone adapter, with the same limitation regarding floating audio recording.

Added 5GHz option in [Wi-Fi Frequency Bands].

Other improvements: the [REAL TIME LUT] function is now assignable to an Fn button, in addition to an improvement in operational stability.

Pop-up message when using a Panasonic retractable lens.

Improved operational stability.

LUMIX Lab

LUMIX Lab supports the DC-S5M2, DC-S5M2X and DC-G9M2 models, allowing users to further explore the cameras' functionality.

Panasonic will extend support for NDI® (Network Device Interface) to its 4K PTZ cameras, including the AW-UE40W/K, AW-UE50W/K, AW-HE145W/K and AW-UE150W/K models, as well as the AG camcorder -CX350. The use of NDI®, which previously required a paid license, will be available free of charge between December 2024 and April 2025. After this period, models will be shipped from the factory with the NDI® feature enabled.
