PANASONIC ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF NEW CAMERAS
PANASONIC ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS 4K STUDIO CAMERA AK-UCX100 AND ITS 4K MULTIPURPOSE CAMERAS AW-UB50 AND AW-UB10
Panasonic announced the launch of its new AK-UCX100 4K studio camera to give operators the flexibility to create unique and engaging content, streamlining operations. Rental and staging environments have become more complex in recent years and require additional equipment. It is known that managing these tools requires additional time and bandwidth, which is not always possible. Now more than ever, production teams need versatile technology that streamlines operations and increases efficiency, from logistics and setup to rehearsals and overall event management. The AK-UCX100 offers event professionals the flexibility to capture high-quality, engaging content in these dynamic environments.
Furthermore, the company also announced its new 4K multipurpose cameras: the AW-UB50 and AW-UB10, designed to unleash creativity in video production. Both box cameras are based on LUMIX interchangeable lens digital camera technology and are equipped with a number of new features designed to optimize video production workflows. They are ideal for the rapidly expanding markets of corporate and educational video production, as well as broadcast and live entertainment.
PANASONIC 4K AK-UCX100: SUPERIOR IMAGE QUALITY TO CAPTURE EVERY MOMENT
Capturing clear, high-quality content in live event environments can pose challenges with changing lighting conditions and dynamic backgrounds. The AK-UCX100 offers excellent image quality right out of the box. The new sensor offers high sensitivity and dynamic range, and easily adapts to both a dark auditorium and places with dazzling lighting effects. Its colorimetry has also been optimized to take into account new challenges with LED lighting and large display walls, while the camera's HD low-pass filter helps manage moiré on LED walls. This allows venues to easily create the same experience for fans whether they are in person or tuning in from home.
With improved resolution and 4K capabilities, the AK-UCX100 achieves 2000 TV lines resolution both horizontally and vertically, capturing detailed ultra-high definition images of your subject from any angle. Additionally, HLG/BT.2020's wide dynamic range and color gamut allow content creators to capture colorful and immersive stage performances for the most advanced display technologies.
A simple and versatile design
Designed for easy operation as part of the Panasonic family of studio cameras, the AK-UCX100 streamlines on-location workflows. Content creators have the freedom to choose the best operation, with or without a camera control unit (CCU). The AK-UCX100 supports 3G and 12G SDI outputs from the camera head and direct sync and tally connection from the remote operation panel, so it can be operated independently. Standalone operation is fully featured when using SMPTE ST 2110 25Gb connectivity to the camera head. Panasonic's new camera fiber adapter (AK-CFA100) can insert camera power into a standard SMPTE ST 311 hybrid fiber cable for standalone camera operation or locally powered operation when used with the CCU . Users can take advantage of either mode as production requirements dictate.
When producing content in a traditional studio with a CCU, the camera is paired with Panasonic's recently launched AK-UCU700 series camera control unit, which provides all traditional connectivity points. The AK-UCX100 can be easily paired with any Panasonic camera, including the AK-UE160 PTZ camera, to ensure consistent and cohesive production quality.
Future-proof IP flexibility
The AK-UCX100 supports everything from simple studio applications to IP-based live production. The AK-UCU700 CCU offers content creators a full range of production format options, including 4x high-speed 1080p and 2x high-speed UHD and HDR. Inputs and outputs include 12G-SDI, as well as NDI® High Bandwidth, SRT and SMPTE ST 2110 at 25 Gbps. This improves flexibility from baseband to HD and UHD IP operations.
The SMPTE ST 2110 can be connected via the AK-UCU700 or directly to the camera for CCU-free operation. When using the AK-UCX100 in an all-IP environment, including SMPTE ST 2110 for transport and synchronization, CCU is not necessary as all communication input and output points can be addressed on the same network connections. Both the SMPTE ST 2110 connected directly to the camera and the one connected to the CCU support SMPTE ST 2022-7 and SMPTE ST 2110 (JPEG-XS)1 network redundancy for HD and UHD sub-frame latency compressed streams on the SMPTE network ST 2110.
PANASONIC AW-UB50 Y AW-UB10: CÁMARAS MULTIPROPÓSITO 4K, CON LOS SENSORES FULL-FRAME MÁS COMPLETOS DEL MERCADO
The AW-UB50 has a full-frame MOS sensor and the AW-UB10 has an MFT (Micro 4/3) MOS sensor. Both support all common IP protocols, such as Panasonic's AW control protocol and RTP, RTSP, RTMPS1, SRT and NDI HX2 protocols.
The AW-UB50 has been optimized for cinematic video production, with a shallower depth of field than the AW-UB10. Both the AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 use real-time recognition autofocus technology, allowing the cameras to automatically identify the subject and keep it in focus.
These two new cameras also feature dual native ISO and V-Log capabilities to give video production teams the flexibility to model and build a camera ecosystem that is optimized for the requirements of individual productions.
Innovative versatility and flexibility
The AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 cameras simplify operations in professional broadcast systems and are ideal for filming, recording and distributing video production at large-scale live events. Box-style 4K multipurpose cameras can support rich, versatile image capture and are incredibly easy to operate in the field, allowing for more creative video production.
Installation flexibility is a design priority. Both models have a compact chassis, with a height, width and depth of less than 10 cm, which allows them to be installed in the smallest spaces. They can also be used for handheld filming with a stabilizer, providing greater flexibility for operators.
Both AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 offer 3G-SDI OUT, HDMI Type A, LAN terminal, TC IN/OUT, GENLOCK IN and USB Type C input/output interfaces. The LAN terminal supports Power of Ethernet (PoE), with video transmission, control and power over a single cable, further reducing complexity and clutter.
Easy operation on remote camera systems
When linked with remote camera systems on the same network, the AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 are fully compatible with Panasonic's AK-HRP1010 Remote Operation Panel, with camera controller support planned in the future. AW-RP150GJ remote and Panasonic live switchers. The cameras can also be used for Tally monitoring. By installing a color profile compatible with the Panasonic AW-UE160 4K integrated camera, it is easy to match colors in mixed operations with remote cameras.
The future-proof design of the AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 cameras allows Panasonic to implement future compatibility with IP-based broadcast standards such as NDI® HX2. This supports increasingly flexible video production methods, such as distributing video via streaming services and building IP-based systems.
