Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM) officially announces the launch of its Cinema and Audiovisual course, in a special event to be held at the Higienópolis campus on November 5, 2024 and with the presence of Fábio Mendonça, one of the series directors 'Cangaço Novo'. Focusing on innovation, technology and training professionals for the growing film market, the new course expands UPM's portfolio, offering training aligned with the demands of the creative industry.

In addition to the presentation of the course, the ceremony will be marked by the signing of a partnership with Panasonic, a global reference company in the development of innovative technologies and solutions for home appliances, housing, automotive, industry, communications and energy around the world, which will bring significant benefits to students and academic infrastructure, in addition to providing future professionals in the market with access to the best audiovisual equipment right from university. Collaboration includes the use of cutting-edge equipment for student productions. The company joins UPM with a commitment to strengthening practical learning, providing students with experiences with cutting-edge technologies, used globally in major film productions.

Sergei Epof, Vice President of Panasonic do Brasil, states that “the partnership with Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie represents an important step for Panasonic, which is a global reference in this market, contributing to the growth of the audiovisual sector in Brazil and helping to form future professionals. With our high-quality equipment, including robotic cameras that are number one in market share and widely used in the professional market, students will have cutting-edge technology at their disposal.”

“This union also reinforces the principles of Green Impact, Panasonic's long-term global environmental commitment to achieving a better life and a more sustainable world, prioritizing social development and promoting solutions and equipment aligned with the project guidelines”, adds Epof.

The event, which will be attended by UPM representatives, Panasonic professionals and guests from the sector, will be the official launch of the Cinema and Audiovisual course, which has open enrollment for the entrance exam until November 18th on the institution's website. The program will feature a debate on the future of cinema and audiovisual in Brazil.
